  1. 1
    Download the miner

    • Download BBMiner by clicking the Download button.
    • To run mining on multiple computers, download and install the BBMiner application on all computers that will be used for mining.
    • Unzip downloaded package and open the .bat file in the text editor
    • In the folder that contains the miner, you should create or edit a file with .bat extension. You can do this in any text editor (for example, Notepad or Notepad++). When you save the file, it’s important to choose ‘All Files’ as a file type, not ‘txt’. Otherwise, you’ll have .bat.txt at the end of the file name, and miner won’t be able to open this file. Your bat file (let’s say it’s called Dogecoin-binance_pool.bat) should contain the following text (Step 2):

Attention! For security reasons, Windows may stop you from opening the bat file. In this case, you should permit it to open in the pop-up window.

  2. 2
    Enter the following command:

    setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
    setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
    setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
    setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
    setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
    cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://dogeminingpool.com:3009 -u DKs5E8nWJe2E5vYnVSoYqNjw2T17nGYUDo.1 -p password
  3. 3
Configure the miner with your settings

WALLET_ADDRESS – enter YOUR Ethereum wallet address or pool USERNAME (this is how CGMiner knows where to deposit your ETH) RIG_NAME – you can choose any name (like test), but don’t exaggerate: it should be 32 symbols max, contain only letters and numbers (no special characters like $%»*;@). Do not forget to specify your wallet address in all files!
  4. 4
    Start mining

Double click your Bat file to start the miner. The miner will start, run the setx commands to set those environment variables, initialize each of your GPU’s, build the DAG file on each of your GPU’s and start hashing away. If you’ve followed the steps above you should see this screen.

FAQ – BBminer

What is an ASIC?

ASIC stands for Application-Specific Integrated Circuit. These devices are designed for a single purpose, offering the highest performance per unit of power. ASICs are currently the only effective way to mine Bitcoin.

Help, I’ve started BBminer, but everything reads zero!

Welcome to Bitcoin mining. Unfortunately, your computer alone cannot mine Bitcoin, no matter how powerful it is. You need to purchase dedicated mining hardware known as ASICs, which can be connected to your computer. Refer to the FAQ on ASICs for more details.

I have multiple USB stick devices, but I can’t get them all to work at once. What should I do?

Many USB hubs fail to deliver the required power to operate all the devices they can physically accommodate, especially if all devices draw power from USB.

I’ve plugged my devices into my USB hub, but nothing shows up. What could be the issue?

RPis and Windows often have incomplete or non-standard support for USB3, which may cause issues. You might be able to get a USB3 hub working by plugging it into a USB2 hub. Whenever possible, choose USB2 hubs, as they generally offer better support.

Can I mine on servers from different networks (e.g., XXXcoin and Bitcoin) simultaneously?

No, BBminer maintains a database of the block it is working on to avoid processing stale blocks. If blocks from different networks are used, it would invalidate the work from each network.

Can I configure BBminer to mine with different login credentials or pools for each separate device?

No, BBminer does not support this feature.

Can I add multiple pools to the configuration file?

Yes, you can add multiple pools. Check the example.conf file for guidance. Alternatively, you can set everything up via the command line or menu after startup. Once configured, choose Settings -> Write Config File to save your settings for future use.

The build fails, and gcc is unable to build a binary. What should I do?

Try removing the “-march=native” component from your CFLAGS, as your version of gcc may not support it. Also, make sure you are using a capital “O” in -O2, not a zero.

Can you implement feature X?

I can, but please note that my time is limited. Feature requests from those who donate are more likely to be implemented.
